I have an 08 LTZ and most of the time the remote start fails.I hit the lock function twice and then hold in the start button for a few seconds and nothing happens.Am I doing something wrong in the sequence ?

On mine I only have to hit the lock button once. Try that and see if it works

Is your check engine light on? Remote start will not function if so.

Ryan is right (...as usual...). Pressing LOCK twice may be screwing up the sequence for you.

Just click the remote's Lock button once then HOLD the Start button until she fires up - then let go. It has worked every time on my '09 CCSB so far.

Every once and awhile mine will do the same thing. The truck will try to start but won't make it. Then the remote start won't work until after the next time I turn it off. No warning lights or anything.. Haven't figured out why/when it will do it yet.

Funny....................Where my 07 gmt-900 (w/ factory remote)

is there are no windows so I aim the remote to the outside

wall where its parked and I press my lock button sometimes

3 times (so I can hear the horn) and then press the start button once. Starts every time!

Possibly you guys are outta range?

Yup, just to re-iterate, you hit the lock button (your parking lights will flash) then hit the start button until you see the parking lights flash again, release button, and truck will start 1-2 seconds later.

I've always hit the lock button twice, then press/hold the start button and never had a problem...strange.

you may have been trying to start it too soon in between remote-starting it.

you can only remote start it once every 10 minutes or so i believe.. then you have to unlock, relock and then try again.

something like that.

From the Book

To start the vehicle using the remote start feature:

1. Aim the transmitter at the vehicle.

2. Press and release the transmitter’s lock button.

The vehicle’s doors will lock. Immediately press and

hold the transmitter’s remote start button until the

turn signal lights flash. If you cannot see the vehicle’s

lights, press and hold the remote start button for

two to four seconds. Pressing the remote start

button again after the vehicle has started will

turn the engine off. When the vehicle starts, the parking lamps will turn

on and remain on while the vehicle is running.

If the vehicle is left running it will automatically shut

off after 10 minutes unless a time extension has

been done.

3. If it is the first remote start since the vehicle has

been driven, repeat these steps, while the engine

is still running, to extend the engine running time

by 10 minutes. Remote start can be extended

one time.

You may be pressing the remote start button a second time and turning the truck back off.
