First Warranty Type Problem

Well, the first problem with my 2008 truck popped up today. The right rear doorlock on my CCSB 2008 truck started balking. It seems to lack full throw and sometimes doesn't work at all. I thought it was a linkage issue, but I started trying it with the door open and it doesn't even seem to click...like the solinoid is not working...but just sometimes. Probably wiring, but could be the solinoid. I was going to fix it myself, if it was a linkage problem, but not on an electrical problem. Anyone else have a power lock failure on a newer truck?

It's probably the actuator..had the same thing happen on my 2008's driver door. I had mine replaced a few months ago under warranty and was told its a common problem with our trucks on this bodystyle.

mine started like that and eventually quit but it was my drives side door so it made me mad every time it happened. Replace it.

Well it's no damn wonder they fail all the time. Heck they are going up and down at least 8 times in one trip to the store and back.

Agree, uneeded wear was one of the two reasons I disabled the auto lock on my 09. I have a friend with 07 chevy and he has replaced all four at his cost!!

I had heard a rumor about the dealer turning this feature off for free. What was your experience? My drivers side went out about six months ago and the dealer said the replacement was a different design. I talked them into replacing my other one under warranty at the same time (it's and EC).

^ I disliked the autolock so much I paid 1/2 hr shop labor to disable. You may be able to talk one into it, esp if having lock problems?

^ and a bed light switch etc...not sure disabling the auto lock will help the failure problem (as it maybe due to poor mfg or vibration etc) but it cannot hurt...

The dealer told me the new ones had a revised design, but who knows for sure.......

My drivers side door went out about 6 months ago, and just went out again this weekend...and the door panel was never correctly put on since the repair. My interior light doesn't stay on either when the drivers side door is open...very aggravating at night when gathering objects out of the truck!!! Guess the shop screwed up something with that too.

That wouldn't surprise me about the shop screwing it up.
