Fox Business News is quoting Wall Street Journal as stating that Ford has stopped production at one plant in China - for unintended acceleration.

Is this just a Toyota thing?

Is this issuse a software or hardware problem?

All/most of the accelerators today are electric or electronic.

You can bet that ALL manufactureres are looking closely at these gas pedals.

I know when GM started using the "drive by wire",in the mid-'90s (I think the Corvette was the first to get it) I was worried about unintended acceleration myself, but thankfully they've had no issues with it.

If GM has to stop production,or stop selling vehicles,It WILL hurt them...big time :banghead:

Yep.. It would be HARD for GM to recover from that.

It's a mechanical issue as I understand it.. Not a software or programming problem. :banghead:

The pedal is sticking or won't come back up after it's been pressed from what they claim.
