Daryl LBZ Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I was thinking of putting some Headers on my Camaro, but I dont want to have to tighten the bolts all the time because its really tight under the hood. I was told about the Stage 8 Header Bolts and was wondering if anyone has used them, and if they work like they are supposed to do?
Z'06 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 Not sure about Stage 8, but I've never once had to tighten my Breslin split-lock header bolts in almost 4 years.
Daryl LBZ Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 Not sure about Stage 8, but I've never once had to tighten my Breslin split-lock header bolts in almost 4 years. Never heard of those. Where did you buy those at?
thearborbarber Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I used stage 8 bolts on my camaro's headers. They are a nice bolt made of stainless steel. Getting the little e-clips on was a pain but as long as I have to never deal with it again who cares.
Z'06 Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I don't remember, but according to this thread, they are now available at (bought out by?) Percy's HP.
Wingnut Posted February 2, 2010 Posted February 2, 2010 I reused my stockers and they've never come loose. Done this several times on several cars matter of fact.
gregrocks89 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 #8 bolts will be good for taking your bolts back out again without having the worry have snapping them off. i got headers myself. When the headers are actually hot take your ratchet and tighten the bolts some. For that reason when your bolts cool off the metal will actually expand then it will grab those headers more and suck them in. Mine havent leaked in a long time
