2005-2010 Body Differences For Reusing Box Capper

Hi all, newbie here.

I have a 2005 chev long box pickup with a cab-high box cap. I am looking at trading up to a 2010 GMC pickup, same standard cab and long box. The Dealer tells me there was a change to the body style in 2007 that may mean my cap will not fit right.

 

Does anyone know what the changes are and how it will affect the mounting of the cap?

 

The cap I have now has some custom features inside so I would like to reuse it on the new truck.

There's a width difference, probably some height difference as well (deeper bed on the new style)

Because of that I was able to get a sweet deal on a real nice SnugTop topper for my '99 since it wouldn't fit on the guy's new truck.

No the cap wont fit as the 2010s bed is wider just a little.

True dat, but touch up paint may be used on both series if the color is the same.

Looks like I'm putting the For Sale sign on the old cap and ordering a new one.
