greetings all- 2003 GMC Sierra Z-71 w/81k- recently my drivers elec operated seat has started doing weird things- first I noticed it not going all the way back when the key is removed fm the ignition (I have had it programmed to go all the way down and all the way back). it goes back about 2/3 rds of the way and stops. so I try to manually move it farther back and down w/the switch, and it just clicks (like it does when it is truly at the end stops. so I open the door, and then I try the switch in the FWD postion, and the seat goes back! so I move the switch UP and the seat goes down! it is moving opposite of the switch, but only with the door open and the key out of the ignition! when the door is closed and the key is on, it works correctly, but still won't go all the way down or all the way back! WTF??? Any ideas?

okay, thanks for helping me to identify the problem... now what is the solution? do I just replace the control module? does the Chevy have the same one? or do I get it from GMC? are there any after market ones out there that you know of?

if not the controler check the wires. I had a wire that was bare on another car and would do the some thing. I would move sometimes, or a little at any time. It was grounding out on the seat frame.
