New F150 Option

I heard through the grapevine that ford was adding a new feature (option) to the F150 due to the large snowfall amount across the country.

Its option code x67 which adds a Heated Tailgate (availible with or without the "man step")

Ford said that this is one of their "Better Ideas" and helps to keep the drivers hands warm while he is pushing the truck through the SNOW.

:shakehead:

But still funny! :nono:

Don't forget the MBF option as well..

It's a dog of your choice to keep the ford owners company as he uses his warm hands to push his truck home

MBF = mans best friend

hmmmmm, dis dis dis.....

I have always been a GM/Ford person. I can never remember one ford in the family just being a problem child. Nor GM..... I drove a 1996 F150 5.8l 4x4 RCSB for a term of 186k..... In which I never turned any bolts that was not involved in the oil and filter changes (engine, transmission, transfer case, differential's). I did change the serpentine belt once and the idler pulley just because it had 100k on it..... During that time NOT ONCE did it have any problem that left me stranded or not stranded. Only thing I remember about it was it could pass anything on the road except the service station you could really watch the fuel gauge go down.....

With that said my current 99 GMC Sierra 5.3 extcsb has 178k on it right now. No real problems to mention. Either. Thou it did have a water leak from day one. Till I found the water pump gasket was causing the leak..... Dealer never could find it...

But the whole man step thing..... Go for it..... WTF... What is that thing for? I am still scratching my head on this no tail gate is that far off the ground........ As I am with the hole torsion rod/shock tailgate helper..... WHO NEEDS IT....... And why.... My other half has no problem closing my tailgate..... Whats the big deal... Heck she can even take it off and set it on the ground and put it back on....

Easy...

Ford was stupid and made their "1/2" ton trucks WAY toooo big. That was deliberate. Then...in a successful attempt to fool the sheep out there, they develop the stupid "MAN-STEP" and act like the greatest innovator in the world.

It's like a doctor giving you Cancer...then claiming he is the hero because he can give you chemo.

I admit they have got higher and higher....... But the first one of the MAN Step I saw was on a 3/4 ton 2 or 3 years ago..... I was repainting the roof panel on that truck.... That truck was a couple years old so maybe 2004-2006... I don't remember any more what year they started the step.

However it was handy when I had the truck on my frame rack..... Which increases the height by 24 inches..... but that's why I have a ladder also.

GM has even grown the size of the GMT's..... R10 vs a GMT-400 was nearly no difference.... GMT-400 vs GMT-800 a couple inches..... GMT-800 vs GMT-900 a couple inches again... I am not complaining I actually like the fact they grew in size. I LOVE driving my land barge.
