MNfreak Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 i worked my transmission pretty hard last night busting through snow drifts on the lake. now my truck won't shift out of first until it hits like 4000 RPMs. it then hits second gear and just about immediately shifts into third. the fluid looks purple with a brown tint but i cant smell to see if it smells burnt. is there a serious issue hear? the truck is an 04 sierra
rodram Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 take your truck to a trustworthy transmission mechanic to have it scanned... this may identify the issue causing the shift delay... ... delayed 1-2 shift can occur from a faulty Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or from a faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) .. but get it checked by a transmission mechanic
