Need Real Experienced Help With Lowering Options

Before anyone starts with the "Why lower a 4x4" and other BS, let me just say that it is my truck and the damn thing is just too high for my taste. Besides, the pickup is nowhere near as good off road as one of the 3 Jeeps we have. The truck is mostly a ranch and tow vehicle and there is none better than the DMax with 4WD especialy on the boat ramps.

 

Anyway, does anyone here have real experience with lowering a 2007-2010 4x4 2500? I realize that torsion keys will reduce ride quality but how much? I have the base suspension and would think better shocks will help offset that.

 

McGaughy has a 2/4 kit that looks like it might be too much but a 2" rear only does not seem like enough. Are there other options? Thanks in advance for your help.
