Air Pressure Sensors

If I go with a 22 inch rim and tire can I just put my factory sensors in them? I know I will have to do the reset in the dic but will they work? Sorry for some of the stupid questions i have asked but this is new to me. Thanks

I'm interested as well.....(well not with that big of a rim though!) I'm assuming the sensors are wireless valve stem sensors? Not a clue how these systems work. I'm glad mine doesn't have it. Although it might have saved me a $175 tire and a cold night tire change.

The sensors are wireless. Little micro-processors and a "broadcast" mechanism to talk to one of the computers in your truck. I don't know about the swap. I'm thinking this: As the current rim is spinning at "X" RPM, based on the MPH you are driving at, the new 22" rim will have a faster "Surface Feet Per Minute" (SFM) at the outer edge of this 22" rim due to it's larger diameter. The same TPS will be under more "Centrifugal Force" at the same MPH--Period! I don't know how much Centrifugal Force these TPS units can take, or IF they may be designed different for different sized rims. You've brought up a darn good question now. I'll have to go to a friends brake/alignment store and ask that other "old fart's" opinion on this. I'll post what I learn later today. David

My crew came with the optional 18" wheels. I found a set of oem 20" and had the original tps monitors mounted in them, all seems ok. It was done at the local gm shop I was told the speedo would be off a little, but everything else will be fine. My gps shows the mph off about 3 mph at 60mph, unsure what it was before the tire change. The 25 year gm master tech told me the stability control and abs wont be bothered by the change. We have had snow since doing this change and everything seems to be working fine.
