Added New Grille To 08

Just added the white / chrome grille to my 08 and was looking for opinions. It's okay to be really honest, I won't get offended. Thanks for looking. Davepost-58593-1267028341_thumb.jpg

I like it,I would color match the front bumper next.

I'd also change the door handles from chrome to White.

Looks sharp man, it's ok to get peoples opinion; but you have to live with the truck. Do what you like to the truck because you like it, not because other people say they'll like it.

Thought the same thing about the door handles. Currently looking for a set. I like the chrome bumper, but was toying with painting the lower valance white.

To me, I like the white grill but it looks weird with the chrome bumper. I'd change that to white also along with the valance and door handles.

Do you think it is possible to just use a vinyl wrap on the bumper to "change" it white?

I was wondering about the wrap too. But don't you think there could be to much room for color issues?

If you did wrap it you could put gm-trucks.com on it!!!

In the search for wraps I checked with SLP for the price of their overlays. The are offering 5% off and free shipping this month so I jumped on the full bumper / lower panel overlay. Cost me $115 and my buddy is a salesman for PPG paints and gets me everything FREE! I sure am glad I asked opinions on this or I never would have seen the free shipping. Saved me over 50 dollars.

Grill looks AWESOME! I will be painting mine in a few weeks aswell. Paint your bowtie! It makes a big difference. I agree with the bumper - paint or wrap it, and the lower valance would look unreal painted. I painted all lower valance, rear bumper trim, tailgate handle and trim and it made a HUGE difference.

This pic shows it with a chrome grill w/ black bowtie - it now has a white bowtie (painting chrome surround next month).

Thats an awesome deal. I went there but did not see anything about free shipping.

It will show up when you check out (on the screen after you input your data) as a coupon code if you order more than 100 dollars.

.... i dont like it at all, only because it accentuates the lower black section.

If you get that black section painted I think the front end will look pretty good & complete. But until then, it just looks strange IMO (and i agree with everyone else, while you're at it you should get that chrome piece painted white as well)

    • Do you remember that Harley Davidson was more successful (solvent) when it produced about 60% of the market demand (by design) and forced wait times of up to three years? Even when your turn came around it was, "Take what we are giving you or move to the back of the line and start over". HUGE markup's were 'normalized' and dealer killed. 40% markup and no floor plan? What's not to love? Greed will kill them yet. They have surplus production and customer base is tanking. And still they think nosebleed pricing will work.
    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
    • Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
    • I can't believe that could possibly be the case. It should be 36mo/100k miles from installation. Then again, it also seems like since a dealership installed it, it'd all be in the system and you wouldn't need to worry about registering, either. Shows you what I know. 😄 Hope this one outlives the warranty!
