I am going to buy new wheels and tires for my 05 2500hd and was wondering if anyone has any good and bad on the trxus sts and the superswamper m16 tires i haul a 18ft trailer with my other truck on it. someone said with the sts they might wear fast due to the fine tread pattern with a trailer. I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

I have decided on the eagle alloy 197 wheels in 18x9 with a 4.5" backspace and -11 offest do you think they will set on the truck nicely?

Welcome to the forum! I would suggest, at all cost, to purchase wheels that are hubcentric. I had a set of eagle alloy wheels, series 064, and they looked great. However, we were never able to get the wheel/tire combo to be balanced correctly WHILE DRIVING. This is because they were balanced once they were off of the truck, but when they were on the truck, there was always a vibration. This is most likely due to them being lug centric. I spent way too many hours at discount tire and other shops trying to get them balanced and it never happened.

My suggestion, call up eagle alloy and find out if you can get hubcentric rings for the wheels you want, otherwise get one of their wheels that you can, or that is already hubcentric to your truck. I know they make rings for some of their wheels, but not all of them.

If they have neither option for you, find another wheel from another company. It is not worth the risk/hassle to not start with hubcentric wheels especially when you are spending the money.
