2008 Gmc 2500 Hd Trailer Brake Unit

hello ! joined trying to figure out how to plug in my brake unit. Listened to everyone and bought prodigy and harness where does plug in ? I see wires to hard wire but i shouldn't have to do that should i ? I cannot seem to open the link that saya is the best on the install, any help would be grealy appreciated !

The 1500 install is hard wired. I assume the same is true for the 2500. There was a bundle of wires for the brake controller electrical taped under the dash. I soldered and shrink tubed them to the wiring harness that came with the brake controller.
