I put a 40 series Delta Flow on my 95 and I loved it. I had headers also and it really wasn't too loud just had a nice tone/rumble.

I put a Flowmaster BB unit on my HD with a 6.0....had used Flowmasters for years.

 

After 2 years, the stupid thing rusted to the point that the internal baffels came loose. The truck is always garaged and well taken care of...I was sure surprised. As Flowmaster has a one year warranty, I was out $100...

 

Swapped it with a stainless steel Magnaflow with a lifetime warranty and am really happy...sounds better, too.....much more mellow small block Chevy sound.

Looks you have duals exiting behind the wheels?? Which Magnaflow did you go with? 12599..?? Duel 3" with 3" duel outlets...I know the make a dual 3" inlet with a duel 2-1/2" outlet..I still think 2-1/2" duel outlets are to big. Thinking of reducing them down to 2.25"...

I have had the Flowmaster BB, I'm guessing similar to HD Classic, and mine has been fine for the three+ years that I have had it. Granted I have had this truck down in the South in TN and GA the entire time, so I get no road salt on it. There is some drone, but that is pretty common on these trucks with the 6.0 gasser. All in all I like mine and have alot of people say they like the way it sounds, which is the main reason why I got mine. I really don't think these mufflers really give us any more HP in the long run, maybe 5 or 10hp but in a 6000pd truck you really can't feel that amount.

I have the Super 40 on my truck and I love the way it sounds. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. It DOES drone inside, but it's not unbearable.

Flowmaster 70 series BB here. LOVE IT!

 

(but I do live in the land of no rust...if I lived North, I'd look at something else)

I put the Flowmaster Super 44 on my 08 silverado with the 5.3 sounds great i love it. have a friend that put the 50 series on his in place of stock muffler sounds deep nice tone not to loud.

have had a super 40 on mine for 3 years and i am currently waiting for fedex to deliver my new mbrp. The flowmaster is rusted so bad im concerned about the internals.

I just put a Flowmaster Delta 50 with duals on my truck a few weeks ago and it sounds great,get lots of thumbs up on the sound. I will get a few pics and a sound clip as soon as this snow melts.I have installed Flowmasters on all my cars,I just blast the muffler with a coat of high temp paint and never had an issue with rust on the muffler case.

I actually never had one fail me and they salt the crap out of the roads up here in winter.

I have the 40 on mine. I really like it. Some drone, but hey, what ever..Your going to have that with the 40....It sure sonuds great when I'm really on the gas hard.

      Late reply, but yes—it works on the SLT trim. Compatibility comes down to the plastic shroud shape behind your mirror, not the trim badge itself. On the SLT with auto-dimming, it uses a plug-and-play Y-harness off the mirror/rain sensor power, so no need to run wires down to the OBD port. If anyone's ever unsure about fitment, just drop a photo of your mirror housing and we can double-check it.   Appreciate the detailed feedback on the install! On the windshield glare—we actually took feedback like yours and developed a dedicated CPL (polarizer) filter to cut down dash reflections on sunny days. If you're still running the cam, shoot me a DM. I'd be happy to send a CPL filter over for you to test out—no charge.

      After I wrote that reply I went for a ride. 85 F out. So trans started at 85 F and it shifted the same as it did an hour latter at 168 F. I've never actually recorded the to cold to shift point but it is under 32 F before they start hanging on to a lower gear or leaving the converter unlocked. Both intended to heat fluid.    Yes, brake or bake. Absolutely.      Your welcome. True research ended decades ago. Field trials are still in play.    There is a thing called oxidation onset temperature. This is the heat related oxidation not the O2 exposure kind. For mineral oil that starts at 140 F. So what happens after 140 F? Each 20 F cuts fluid life in half! Does using a Full Synthetic improve that? Yes! By how much? Depends on the base oil type and a few other factors. But enough to notice. Some esters are even higher. There are even synergies between types the will raise it higher than any one component is alone.    Then there is "Hindered" oils. Antioxidant additives. Hindered Polyol Esters can sit at 500 F for years in a turbine.   When a blender brags his oil will 'take 500 F" in service he doesn't specify for how long. Water will dance on a 500 F hot plate for several seconds. @newdude put up a chart showing the relationship between fluid temperature and it's life in an automatic transmission. Here's a version of that chart for Group III based oils. These temperatures are those in the pan as observed as 'normal'. that is you drive as you do for as long as you do under what load you ask of it and whatever that temperature is this graph applies to. Flash temperatures of a few minutes isn't what his means.    Note that fluids held at a constant 240 F have a service life of only 20K miles. 220 F explains the factory exchange limit, eh? My equipment I keep under 180 F and I'm good if the cooler will hold it as low as 140 F. But that's me.
