Any Bak Flip Folding Tonneau Cover Owners Here?

I am thinking about buying a bak flip folding tonneau cover. But after reading this older thread http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...=110259&hl= I am worried about the durability of the units. Anyone else have problems with leakage and wear on the hinge seals? Also I am not looking for a soft cover.

My dad has one, and it does leak, but not because of the hinges, just because of the seals around the edge. They don't seal around the edge of the bed and on the tailgate. Also it doesn't see real heavy use, but so far the hinges are fine. It doesn't leak bad, but if it really rains hard, or there's serious blowing snow, it will leak a little bit. FYI the cheapest he found was on ebay.

Also I noticed you have an older truck, so the design may differ and the bed rails and tailgate cap may allow it to seal better

I've had mine for about a year and it's holding up good. I never attached the drain hoses so it leaks but very little. I really like it but next time I think I'm going to get an undercover tonneau

Get a soft roll up tonneau even though you don't want one.

I've got the back-flip and so far so good. It does leak a little bit, say after going through the car wash, but nothing major. The hinges are holding up alright too. I wanted something more rigid than the soft flap-away-on-the-highway Lund cover I had on my last truck. Granted that one was pretty inexpensive.

Have one on my truck for 2 years now with no problems. Does leak a little but seems to be ok after I got a roll of foam seal and sealed the front and around my tailgate. Easy to take off and lay in your bed if you have to.

Two years is a good test period time. Do you get any snow in your area? Is the only leakage you have at the front and tailgate? None at the hinges? Is it parked in a garage when it is not used?

I've had mine since Aug. and so far I love it. I had some leakage issues but I believe that was caused by the bed rail protectors installed as it created a small gap at the front but some weather stripping fixed that. I also some hose 90s and routed my drains through the front stake pockets. It still seems to leak a little by the rear but I think thats caused by the tailgate and not the cover. I have a tailgate seal kit to install once it stays warm. I park outside all of the time and I have not noticed any weathering of the seals just yet. While they are expensive so far I love it, even just got another for my dads new truck.
