Craftsman Trolley Jack

I was in Sears today. Not loving the scissor jack that came with my Silverado. Hadn't gotten around to doing anything about it until today. Saw a "craftsman trolley jack" (Floor Jack) for 29.99. Regular 49 bucks.

I picked one up. Would have gotten two (one for wife's Honda Ridgeline) except that it is pretty heavy so I might get one of the aluminum "racing" models that is lighter.

Anyone interested check out Sears.

Here is a link to the sale http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...word=floor+jack .

Sometimes they offer a similar deal with two jack stands included.

Does it lift high enough to be useful with your truck?

I have three of them but I didnt think they lifted high enough to pick the truck up much, perhaps using it under the axle.

My wife asked the same thing. I am gonna check. What a bonehead!!!!!! Geez. Can't believe I didn't check.

Well, for that price, you can always get a big block of wood to put under the floor jack. I have a Sears floor jack, albeit a much more expensive one, and it lifted the rear of my 2500 HD (under the axle) just fine. And that was without any extra raising of the jack.

Is it OK to put the jack under the axle?

I went shopping on Black Friday (never again) and scored the 3 ton version of that jack, a creeper, and 2 jackstands for $60. I've used the jack plenty of times on my truck, and it won't reach the frame, but it reaches my skidplate and rear diff even with 35's with no problem. I read online reviews and some said that it wasn't worth it, but I scored it pretty cheap so I figured I'd give it a shot. It seems to be very solid so far. My only complaint is that the jackstands aren't anywhere near reaching my frame, but they work on every other non-lifted vehicle.

I could find out differently here, but, yes, I would say it is. Well, let's put it this way; I did and haven't noticed any ill effects.

I picked one up a few weeks ago. They do work well for the price. They aren't as good as a regular floor jack, but at 1/10th the price, it doesnt matter.

I've seen those (I work in a mall and try to check out Sears a couple times a week) but decided to pass. I've got a Wal-Mart special chrome GM 2 1/4 ton jack but will be getting a more heavy duty one in the near future. The short handle, low weight capacity and lack of lift height on my jack makes it less than ideal for the rare occasions when I need to jack up my truck. A 6x6" block works, and jackstands are always used, but that little jack just scares me whenever I use it.

I've been looking at Harbor Freight as well as Sears and want to get a four ton, but may settle for a 3 ton.

I keep wanting to buy a jack, but can't find the reason to. I have yet to use the one in the truck with the exception of the one time I got a flat. I fit right under to change the oil and that's about the extent of my needs to get under my truck. That is a good deal though.

About the only need I have for a jack is during tire rotations. Eventually, though, I'll need one for brakes and to replace the left front hub assembly.

I have a little 2.5 ton jack with a lift of 21" that works just fine, but when I grow up I'm going to steal my dad's/ He has a 7 ton R.V. jack that has a lift of 39", the only downside to his jack is that it if you want to pick it up it takes 2 guys.
