Exhaust Tips

I wanting to put an exhaust tip on my 07 sierra 5.3. I know the bigger outlet the louder but does the length effect the sound? Whats the difference between single and duel walled? Whats the difference between the slash exhaust, andgle cut and round exhaust? I want my truck to have a deaper throatier sound. I want people to know i have a tip but dont want to get pulled over by the cops. Im just looking for a little louder and deeper sounding exhaust.Does the sound change much with different manufacturers?

What kind and size of exhaust should i get?

Putting on a tip is not going to change your exhaust sound. You need to at least do a muffler swap. Maybe a whole cat-back system depending on what you are trying to acheive. A lot of guys here run Flowmaster, Magnaflow, and Corsa.

so what exactly do i need to get the sound i want? Im looking for specifics and think i will go with magnaflow, dont have lots of cash so the cheapest option would be the best.

It sounds like you just want to do a muffler swap only. That's what I did. Depending on what muffler you pick out it should cost anywhere from $50-$200.

I did a Corsa DB Black series muffler installed for about $150ish IIRC. Here's a video of it for your listening pleasure:

Really really like the sound of that, probably going to get it.Know anywhere i can get one in saskatchewan? My only worry is that it is too loud, are the cops gonna hear or am i safe as long as i dont gun it(cant afford to get a ticket)?

The appeal of the Corsa exhaust is that it is fairly quiet when you're taking it easy. When you get on it, especially WOT it screams...in a good way. I forget the part# but I ordered mine from the Corsa website. Here's the link:

Where are you located in Saskatchewan? I'll help you find a place to bring your truck. Im in Manitoba. I bought my flowmaster muffler from NAPA and had it installed at Minute Muffler. They have always did a great job with my truck.

I don't think you'll have a problem with loudness. I'm sure Corsa as well as all other manufacturers take sound laws into consideration when designing their systems for street use.

Im at radisson sask, which is close to saskatoon. Theres a minute muffler in Saskatoon so install wont be a problem i just need to get my hands on the muffler. I really like the sound of the corsa so if anyone can find one that isnt gonna cost me more than 300 with shipping that would be great. What borla or magnaflow muffler would be comparable to the corsa because their is a distributor in saskatoon for them both i think. Still hoping to get the corsa though.
