Budget Lift Kit?

I'm looking for lets say a budget lift. I read a lot of other threads and for me price is definitely a factor, although I don't want to do a hack job.

My torsion bars are cranked, and being a short bed, the rear is still higher than my buddy with lift blocks in the rear. I did a quick measurement at all four wheels, and from the ground to the lip of the fenders im at 39". Not sure how much higher I want to go, but I do use my truck for a truck, hauling, towing, light wheeling, etc. Not sure about body lifts, cheap and easy? I would have to extend my shifter, kits come with an extension? Would really like to run suspension, but still undecided. I was looking at this: http://suspensionmaxx.com/mm5/smxmc2.html but with my torsions already cranked how much more would these give? As I stated, there is a tiny possibility of me running a plow next year. I really don't want to, but thats something to keep in mind.

Thats cool, appreciate the honesty.

I did call 4 Wheel Parts and asked what lifts were available for my truck. He said leveling kit, which I dont need, 3" Body Lift which is $250, and a 6" or 8" suspension lift. I didn't ask the price on those yet. Also asked about install and they said $600 bucks for 8 hours of labor, kind of ridiculous for a body lift. Still on the fence, need some opinions. I was thinking new keys to take the load off my torsions and do the 3" body, but id hate to be striving for more lift. 6" might be the way to go.

If you are already thinking you will be wanting more lift with just 3" then just go right for the 6". There have been plenty of guys on here who have gotten just a body lift then in almost no time wanted more lift.

no such thing as a budget lift unless u go body lift. its the cheapest and safest way to go. Any of the cheap suspension lifts will definately suck.

Putting the plow on there is going to eff things up even more. U cant have it all really especially with the 1500. Plow or lift i would do. Not saying you couldnt get away with a SMALL plow but its gonna be hard on the suspension components etc. I wouldnt put a plow on AND lift it.

DO NOT put a plow on a lifted 1500. A plow stresses the truck quite a bit when it's stock. Adding a lift to the equation could be asking for a disaster. My suggestion would be to get a body lift, install it yourself (really not too bad at all if you have access to air tools), and with the $$ you save you can buy an old truck with a plow on it. Being summer, I'm sure a running plow truck could be had for Under 5 grand no problem.

Thanks for the input guys. I figured id ask before doing and im glad I did. I have a few things id like to do to the truck first anyway, they take priority.
