Hello, I am new here. I am from Fort Wayne, IN. My Name is Todd. I just got a new to me truck. It's an 01' GMC 2500.

Nice truck and I got a good deal on it. It's in the local shop right now getting the exhaust mani studs and gaskets replaced. They were leaking when cold and it was annoying and I did not want to hurt the motor.

I usually work on my own vehicles but this time I decided to let someone else have the headache. 3 studs were broked.

I still have my old beater which it for sale, it's a 91' Chevy 2500. It's still a solid mechanical truck but not comfortable at all and just a standard cab so no baby seat location...Plus it's rusty on the body and generally an ugly truck. I have taken it thru hell and back though and it's never let me down.

Anyway, I mostly have liked subaru's and still have a few. I just sold three so I am trying to thin down the heard and concentrate on certain projects.

My cars currently:

01 gmc 2500

91 gmc 2500(for sale)

05' Subaru Sti (for sale)

02' Subaru WRX

90" Suabru Legacy wagon that is gutted and gonna run 35" tires when it's done

86" Monte Carlo SS

I will post some pics of the new truck when it comes back from the shop.

Here are some pics of my other vehicles.

So anyway, thats it for now. I like it here from what I have seen so far. Good people.

Thanks all. I love the Monte for sure. It's not fast though. I did some crappy body work and paint on it a few years back. It's starting to show. I got the car for a steal so...

It has a freshish 350 4bolt but still has the stock 200r trans. YUK! LOL!

I want to resto mod the whole car someday and it will be a full frame up build. I had an 87ss in HS that was destroyed when some drunk **** ran into me a 100mph. I walked away with out a scratch though.

I had to get another one.

The goals for this car someday are about a 600hp DD car. I am gonna have to tub it some to put the power down beacuse I do want to drag it here and there.

Either that or it might end up a nicely restored, lightly modded ss for my boy to drive for his first car.(he is about 2 so that gives me time. )

This is why I am selling everything so I can concentrate on the SS and the legacy offroader.

Welcome to the site. I had a white 86 SS but it got totaled in a car accident. Got T-boned on the passenger side and bent the frame. :dunno:

^ Thats what happened to my 87, only mine was on the drivers side. The investigators said that they estimated I got hit at close to 100mph. I walked away without a scratch. I was not wearing my seatbelt. When the car came to a stop against a telephone pole i was in the passenger seat. The drivers door was pushed all the way to the center console. The people in the other car were not so lucky. Two of them had severe back head and neck injuries, the passenger died and the driver(drunk guy) ended up partially paralysed. They were air lifted form the scene.

The firemen and police said that if I had my belt on I would have died becuse it would have held me in the seat. I wear my belt now any way but thought it was ironic.

They did give me a seatbelt ticket though :dunno:

The motor was still running when I came to a stop and had to shut it off. :omg:

Thanks. The subie project will be awesome if I ever get it done.

The car was lifted 4" before I tore it down. It also had a dual range 5spd 4hi/4lo trans from an older gen subie.

It will have:

35" tires

chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 front and rear knuckles(rear steering ;) )

ford 8.8 IFS/IRS diffs(4.xx:1 gears)

the 5spd dual range trans

secondary suzuki samuri T case with 6.XX :1 gear set

double wish bone suspension front and rear

fox nitro charged shocks(no outer spring)

custom made halfshafts.

subaru svx motor 3.3L flat 6

Lotsa other stuff....

It will be lifted 20" or more over stock. The roof top will set at about 78-82" when it's setting at neutral ride height. I want to keep it independant suspension. I know it will limit my flex but It will be different. I could throw solid axels under it a lot eaiser but...

I will be making/fabing everything myself that I possibly can.

Fabin yourself is he way it should be. At a wedding I was talking to an uncle which isn't mechanically inclined asked why I would make this thing we were talking about instead of buying it. I didn't know how to reply to him.

I know what you mean. Somethings I can see it. If the cost is minimal and it is what you want then just buy it. If it something odd or expensive as hell and you have a specific way you want it, then build it.

I am gonna build my own trailer. Why? I want it a certain way and don't want to pay someone else for something I can do myself and have it exactly the way I want it.

Some people have no vision to see what can be if you put your mind to it.
