Guys With Rear Addco Bars... Please Help..

Hello. I have a 2005 Sierra 2WD and I just purchased an ADDCO 1 inch rear sway bar. My problem is that I think the bar they sent me is waaaaay to small. At its widest part, it is only 32 inched wide.

 

Please take a look at this picture and tell me what you think. If you have an ADDCO bar, can you please tell me how wide yours is???

Yep! That's the right bar. Once you climb under the truck to do the install and see how it actually mounts, you'll understand why it's that narrow.

you could try calling the manufacturer...? (Addco 800-621-8916)

 

 

 

for those with Addco (or other aftermarket) sways, do they really make that much of a difference?

They don't make a huge difference most of the time, but they definitely make a significant difference in strong crosswinds and when towing. Stability then is greatly improved.

Thanks... the most I tow is 17' aluminum boat. Think I'll save my $400 for another mod...

My mechanic that looked at it said that my rear spare tire was in the way. He said he would have to remove the spare. Then he said it was too narrow. WTF?

 

Is he just full of crap then? Should I take it to another mechanic?

After looking at pics online, I see how to correctly install this bar. Thank you all for the help. I will post results once completed.
