So I was on my drive to the womans house when I met a jeep cherokee towing a powerjoke on a trailer juuuuussst long enough that all four tires could fit  .... Needless to say the rear of the jeep was firmly supported by helper springs, or in this case bump stops, and the front looked like it was barely touching the highway. Yes, thats right the highway. This joker was pulling this stunt on a major highway here in Missouri... While seeing this I was thinking of how if I tried that with my half-ton, which is way more qualified for the task than the jeep but still a decent load for my truck, that I would get pulled over for exceeding the weight limit of my license. But here in Missouri if you have car tags you could pull anything you want regardless of weight, assuming you could get hitched of course. Anway thus concludes this story

It's camping season here, we see the same kinda stuff here all the time....a mini van pulling a 30 foot travel trailer, all loaded down, hitch about 2 inches from the ground....and they all have tags from a certain area, don't wanna insult anyone so I'll leave "where from" out

When I lived in GA I had a neighbor who had a Ram 3500 diesel and he would pull his 30ft gooseneck travel trailer, with his 22' sport boat attached to the back of that. LOL it was quite a rig. I always questioned the legality of it but he never got pulled over.

double trailers are legal in most states, I know Florida is an exception. Some states even allow tripple trailers, which is crazy.

I thought that terminology was only for 18 wheeler type trailers...

I saw a crazy on I-90 by LaX, WI with a late 90s early 2000's Pontiac Grand Prix or Am. Hooked to that was a 14 foot or so tandem axle Enclosed U-Haul trailer. The ass end had to be close to scrapeing the ground, and the front was pointed to the sky. It looked as if the car hit any bump it would do a wheelie. What amazed me is, why U-Haul would let the guy tow with that? Don't they look at the tow vehicle BEFORE they let someone take off? I was damn glad he was on that side of the interstate and I was on the other side. He was from MN I believe if I remember right, but regardless, one of those things that makes you shake your head and go what the hell.

LaCrosse Wi. ? I towed a mid 80's Olds 98 2dr on a double axle trailer with my 1979 V6 Monte Carlo. Couldn't go over 35mph for the 20 mile trip. Stupid and funny.

Yep La Crosse, WI. Your situation is different, 79 Monte has a little weight to her. My dad had a 78 Caprice Classic, black 350 with a heavy duty auto, I think the Turbo 350. But anyway, he had a 5x8 utility trailer that he hauled with that car and multiple John Deere garden tractors for mowing. But a late 90's early 2000's Grand Prix or Am is not a very good tow vehicle.
