2010 Silverado Head Unit Swap

ok so i am looking at swapping out my head unit and decided to pull the radio out of the dash to see what i would need and how much room is in there. Thank god i did.

i see that the factory radio (not bose) does not have a standard fm antenna hook up. there is only 1 antenna wire going into it. this wire looks and connects just like an xm antenna (similar to coaxial cable). any ideas where the fm antenna cable is and where it hooks up?

Thanks

I just swapped out my radio in my 09 and came across the same problem with the coax style antenna. AutoZone has an adapter but its a chrysler adapter that works. cost about $6

Yup, gotta have an adapter, if you go to crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle info, they will tell you exactly what you need for an install of anything, and then rather than spending $25 you can just go to the auto parts store and get a cheap one

my truck stereo is back together i did not take pics.

not a big deal really. the back of the radio has a coaxial cable connector for the antenna. you need an adapter if you are using a head unit with an fm antenna jack.

you can get it from TSSradio part #40-CR30.

adapts the coaxial cable to work with an fm style antenna.
