General Motors has reportedly hit a record low for Canadian market share.

While the automaker did see an increase of 30 percent last month for its four major brands, poor sales from the retired marques under the old GM's banner, including Hummer, Pontiac and Saturn, caused it to see an overall loss of 22 percent in comparison to the year previous.

According to GM, these numbers mean it has fallen to just 14.7 percent of the Canadian market share, landing it behind other major competitors Chrysler, Ford and Toyota, despite its recall woes. It has been nearly 100 years since GM has seen such a small percentage of market share here in Canada.

However, with sales of some new models under the core brands on the rise, like the GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Equinox both just short of 100 percent increases, GM could be back on the rise soon.
