Seat Belt Light Stays On

Recommended Posts

Driving home today I noticed that the seat belt light has been staying on.

It will blink a few times and ding like it always has but now it does the blinking, beeping and then just stays on, doesn't go out like before.

If I hook the seat belt it will go out. Any thoughts or has anyone else done this.

(And yes I know I should be wearing my seat belt all times.)

Go to a junkyard and get the seatbelt latch and just leave it in the slot for good.

Or wear your seatbelt.

lol true but its a new truck so the junk seat belt latch is out.

Just thought there might be some dumb little problem with an easy fix. I hate wasting time at the dealer

I don't know man...it should have always stayed on without your belt in the latch. Maybe you just noticed it.

Pretty sure it didn't though??

Maybe someone with a 010 will chime in. My 08 chevy never stayed on

My 03 stays on all the time until the buckle is inserted.

You would have to jumper the connector actually. If you disconnect the "sensor" you are just taking the buckle switch out of the circuit. You still have to complete the circuit to turn the light off.

I would just keep the seat belt buckled up all the time if it were me.
