Rim And Tire Fitment

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 Silverado extended cab 4x4 and I cannot find information on what is the maximum tire size that will fit on this truck without any cutting. I am having a dealer install the ReadyLift 2.25 leveling kit with the 3" rear block kit as well. I want to keep my stock 18" rims and have chosen a 33" inch tire. I am looking at 295/65/18 or 275/70/18 however, I dont want a tire that looks too skinny. Any advice? I see some posts of people running 33x12.5x18 but I am thinking those tires might be too wide for an 8" wide rim and may require cutting. 295/65/18 is not a common size so need some assistance? Thanks.

I have the 275/70/18's on my stock rims and I have no rub issues. I have heard of people running the 285/65/18's without issue but I haven't heard of anyone running the 295 so I can't help with that size. I have the skyjacker 2" lift. 03181-1.jpg

Brad,

Those tires look nice on your truck. Are they narrow?

They are by no means WIDE but they aren't real narrow. They don't look like little skinny tires on the truck but they don't stick out either. I can try to take a better picture that shows there width sometime tomorrow when I get a minute.

Those are the only ones I have on the computer right now. But I will try taking some better ones tomorrow at better angles to try and show the width better.

Man those tires look great on your truck. This is exactly what I am thinking of doing when I need to replace my tires. How much were those tires if you don't mind me asking? Also, you just have a 2" front leveling kit, correct? Any lift to the rear?

I have a 2.5" front leveling kit, stock rear height and my truck looks a lot higher than yours does. Did you have to get an alignment when you went to the bigger tires? Also do you know if your speedometer is off now?

NWI, take a look at the suspension mod section. On the first page I have a post for the Zone 3.5 combo installed and there is a picture of the front of my truck with the 275/70/18 tires installed. I don't believe that they look too narrow by any means. Good luck!

I paid like $937.00 for all 4. The guy didn't charge me for mounting/balancing.

A I have is a Skyjacker 2" Level. No rear lift. I didn't get an alignment after the tires; just the level.

Didn't check my speedo with a GPS so I don't know if it was off. I have a Diablo Tuner now and changed tire size on it so I should be correct but haven't checked it.

And I don't know about the mud flaps question.

Ok here are a few more pictures I took today. Hope they help show what you're looking for in the width.

One thing about the BFG's 275/70/18 that I didn't look at before I bought them is the widest wheel they are designed for is the 8.5 inch wheel. I like my stock wheels and all but I've been thinking about upgrading the wheels and now it seems every wheel I like is only made in the 9" size. I have had trouble finding any that I really like in 8.5 size.

I am probably going to put a 6" lift on it later on and run 35's and would like to be able to get some wheels now but 8.5 is the widest for this tire and I'll need the 9's for the 35's I want. If I would have gotten the 285/65/18 I could use the 9" wheel and be able to use them when I get the 6" lift. Just a thought.

YOu didn't get a direct on front pic!

Yeah I forgot to get a good front pic. I took one but it didn't turn out worth a damn and you can't really see anything as far as the tires go.

From the back it looks awesome, I am curious how the front looks. And also a close up pic at the front of the truck looking down one side towards the back of the truck to show how much the tire sticks out the side.

Thanks man this has been a big help!

Give me a few minutes and I'll see what I can come up with. If the sun will cooperate. :(
