ok, so I am considering the 275/70r18 tires by BFG or Mickey Thompson. I have a set of 18x9 wheels with 5" backspace (0 offset). I have not had much luck finding any 99-07 silverados or sierras with these tires on their trucks. So, if I install these wheels and this size tire, will I have to turn the keys? These are 33" tires but from what I remember, most of the issues came from the width of the tires before it is the diameter.

I wouldn't think I need to as these are only one size wider than the stockers, but I have no idea and need some advice.

I don't know what tire you have but you may want to check the recommended rim width. I was thinking of putting that size tire on an 18X9, however a 9 did not fall in the recommended rim width. There was a small chance the tire could dislodge. I know it probably would never happen, but I wasn't going to be the one guy it happened to.

I also noticed the size variation betwen companies.I want to get the ones from Mickey Thompson, as they are listed as ok for 9" wide rims.

Then you should be good to go. I don't know much, that was something I ran into though. I would also guess you would have to turn your keys.
