Introduction And Leveling Question

I have been lurking around here and reading a lot since I bought my 2010 CCSB Z71 4x4 at the end of February. I have already gotten my bed sprayed with Line-X and installed a tool box.

I love everything about the truck except for one thing though...the rake. I have been wanting to put a leveling kit on the truck since the day I bought it. I have done extensive searching on this site and others trying to figure out which leveling kit to put on, and I think I have finally decided on one. I am going to get a 1.5" front kit from Fat Bob's Garage:1.5" Leveling Kit- Fat Bob's Garage. The kit looks like the Readylift spacer, but half the price.

I am also considering putting in the Zone 2" lift block in the rear to replace the stock 1.25" block. My truck has exactly 2" of rake as it sits now. I occasionally carry heavy loads and tow, and I DO NOT what the front end to stick up when doing so. The lift block should give me approximately 1.25" of rake.

Does anyone have any experience with either one of these components? Is Zone the best place to buy the 2" lift block?

Bottom line is these trucks sit WAY too low in the front. It is embarrassing that my 4x4 truck barely clears curbs in the front.

Here is a picture of the truck the day after I bought it.

Welcome to the site!

If you do a lot of towin/hauling look into installing an add-a-leaf kit

i put the tuff country leveling kit in mine. looks great without a load on but even just my 4wheeler in it and the front end is up, im thinking about either an add-a-leaf or air bags, air bags are alot better if your towing alot but there also alot more $$$$$. those spacers your looking at arent as big as the tuff country ones. so if u put those in and then add 3/4" to the back your gonna be back to the stock look, but your gonna be higher. as far as im concerned a block is a block i really dont think theres much of a difference in any of them but i could be wrong.

TXDOX21 - I just bought almost the EXACT same truck as you last week.

And I'm also in Texas.

I didn't get side steps (yet...I'm going to).

Other than that they are pretty much identical.

I too want to put the level kit on the front - I hate the "raked" look.

The steps came on my truck from the dealer, and I talked them down into giving me them for free instead of $500. I was planning on taking them off and selling them, but they have grown on me since I bought the truck. I am thinking about swapping them for N-Fab bars though.

I installed the front leveling kit today, and I am very happy so far. I am not sure if I will put the 2" rear blocks in though as I have around .75" of rake still. Went to get an alignment, and they said everything was still well within specs.

I will post some pics tomorrow

^^ before and after?? Has anyone done a leveling kit on there 2wd truck? What are the down falls of leveling the truck out?

mine is 2wd, see above. i don't see any problems other than when little cars rear end you they end up going all the way under :)
