2010 Gmc Sierra

Hello. I purchased a 2010 GMC Sierra on Friday. I take possession of her on Monday. It's a simple standard cab, standard bed, 2wd, V6, power windows, power locks, and heated power side mirrors. Oh, and fog lights! Lol.

A very basic truck for what I need. I guess my short-term goal is a new stereo. I posted in that forum with a question. As soon as I can explain to the wife that I -need- wheels and a grille-guard and side-steps and ... Yeah, I'll get around to it.

So, what else can I do short-term and short-funds? Any fun and simple mods?

Alot of guys with the GMT-900's who own trucks without the DIC add that function. I believe the part is roughly $80 bucks and you pull the old dash piece out, connect the pre-wired connector, snap it in your dash, and you then have the DIC controls like it would have came factory.

Getting the DIC buttons and rear wheel liners are both cheap worthwhile add-ons. The best single thing I bought was a bed mat. Only cost $80 and it couldn't be simpler - just unroll it.

Well, it's been too long since I posted. I took possession on Monday. It was an awesome experience. As I pulled into the dealer I noticed a gorgeous red standard cab Sierra sitting under a porch.

"No, that couldn't be mine, it's got chrome rims and a bumper." I thought to myself. I pulled in, and the salesman was already in my face (in a good way this time," inquiring as to what I thought about her.

I was astonished. Not only did my nearly-stripper model Sierra have chrome rims and a bumper, she also had the CD player that I was already planning on purchasing and installing. Long story short, the nearly-stripper with power windows and locks sold while they were doing the deal. Luckily, the same dealer had this Sierra with the power windows and locks and side mirrors, but also the Premium Exterior Work package which included the rims and bumpers.

Well, I've put roughly 300 miles on it already and I'm in love. I've never been a truck guy, but unless someone deposits a Mustang GT or a Camaro SS in my driveway, I'm not going back.

Without further ado ... pics! (Sorry, she needs a bath.)

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words. As far as the DIC installation, from the snippits I've seen it seems pretty straight forward, but I can't seem to find an actual walkthrough. Can someone point me in that direction?

As far as the rear-wheel liners, is that for cosmetic purposes? Or are there some underlying bonuses to it?

Also, is there a recommended place to buy rims online? I priced 20" XD Monsters locally for $250 each. Seems kinda steep.
