Km2 Buyers Remorse

OK So I pulled the trigger and bought 255/85/16 load range E BF Goodrich KM2. Cool looking tire for my NNBS 2500HD 4x4. I expected a bumpy ride and a hum on the road. Well neither happened these things are quiet compaired to my Cooper STs that were half worn. The problem is handling (It Sucks) I move over a lane in the blink of an eye, If I do pass someone the body roll is just plain dangerous feeling. It tracks to the right hard.

So I called the tire dealer and explained everything to him and he basically said tough luck you got a MT. I explained that this is the first time I have experienced this with an MT. He told me that to give it a few hundred miles and it will go away. I am wishing I would have gone with a 265/75/16 Duratrac. With so little miles on the tires what are my options? Does BFG have any satisfaction policy?

To top it all off my Bully Dog Tripple gas won't allow me to change my tire size... So Im using my GPS to make sure im not speeding. Which I think im about 7MPH off from my 245's.

60 lbs Front/ 80 lbs rear

Do you tow/haul with the truck on a regular basis?

The only time I run more air in the back is when I have a load. I would play with the tire pressure a bit and see if that helps. If not, then your tire guy is probably right...

I don't tow that much. but the TPMS will go nuts if I run 40.

I took the tires off and put my old 245's on. Anybody near Springfield, Mo I have great deal. only 15 miles on them.

I recently got Goodyear MTR's installed and set at 40PSI - No TPMS issues as of yet

The difference there is the OP has a 2500HD. He won't want to run 40 psi in them.

That is too bad that your tire dealer doesnot ever want your repeat business or any good referrals from you.

I can tell you that my tire guy (OKTire in Saskatoon, SK) would do everything possible to make sure I was happy... if required, he'd have those tires off the truck and something else back on immediately if he thought I was going to be leaving the store as an unhappy customer....

My thoughts exactly Rod. I went to another place today and they treated me like gold. Said that if I had gone with them I would not be having this issue. They changed my tires back for me and only charged $45.00.

They didn't want my tires though. Said it was an oddball size and would never get rid of them.

In 2006, I tried 255/85r16 bfg mud km's and felt the difference from 285/75r16's. I had them on for 3 hours and returned to the tire shop for 285's. Footprint is narrower, traction felt less, and rear sway when changing lanes.
