New Muffler

Im looking for a little bit of a deeper tone and hey if i can gain some HP why not. will changing the muffler give me a deeper tone and what size am i looking at 2000 silverado 4.8 litre. Thanks

magnaflow mufflers are the only way to go. I think your truck will be dual in and single out but not sure. If it was me I would go dual in and you have a dual out. Keep it under 3 inch outlets though. 2.5 inch outlet would be good as it will help with torque.

Nope Single in and out for a 4.8 6.0L is the only Dual in single out.

 

MagnaFlow is a very good muffler for increased sound and low reverb/drone.

 

You have a 2.75" exhaust in and out.

 

Get yourself an 12587, its a 5X11 muffler, 28" long and offset in and out, with 3" in and out...that way you can pop an adapter pipe on and reduce the muffler to the exhaust pipe. going the other way (the 2.5" increased to the 2.75 exhaust) will increase turbulence in the exhaust...interrupting flow.
