285/70-17's On Stock Wheels?

I have an '06 gmc 1/2 ton crewcab z71 in need of new tires. I don't want to spend the money for a lift and wheels right now but would like a little wider tire than my stock 265/70-17's.

 

Can I run or does anyone have a picture of stock wheels with 285/70-17 tires?

if you have the 17x7.5's like mine did then you should be fine with a little bit of a crank of the t-bars so they dont rub. thats what i did before i installed the lift.

 

i'll try and find a pic but i dont think i have any on this computer.

I will attach a pic of my 05 gmc 1/2 ton crewcab z71 with 285/70 -17's on it. I got some yokahomma geolander a/t's 8 ply's on it and I did not have to do anything. I did remove my front mud flaps but I think I could put them back on I just havent yet. I also removed the little plastic deal on the bottom of the front bumper but again I did it just in case so the tire shop did not start trimming stuff for me. My wheels are stock wheels off an 07 GMC they are just powder coated. Anyway I hope this helps.

Really want 285/70/17's on my '09 Silvy, just don't want care much for the level kit (don't judge me!). Probably have to just bite the bullet eventually, level, and install the 285's. They look so sweet!!

 

Of course, I'd like to chrome my factory 17's first!!
