1978 Gm Chassis Diff Id Needed (pics And Original Window Sticker)

1977-78 GM Chassis Class A Motorhome with 454 and 4.56 rear end.

 

I count 14 bolt. Could be a 10.5" corperate or an 11" dana? Any other idea's? Does the option code mean anything?

 

Need ID of rear diff. I can find no numbers/stampings to ID the rear end.

You should be able to identify it by the shape of the cover. I'm certain they are different. Check the shape of a new gasket for either one versus yours. I will stick my neck way out and say Dana. But don't quote me on that.

I thought the shape was wrong for a 14-bolt. Look at a 14-bolt gasket and see.

That's clearly a 14B axle...Dana's all have 10 bolt covers...at least anything strong enough for that beast of a vehicle.

It looks just like the two 14-bolts I've had

DANA will have the number stamped ie 44, 60, 70 on the housing right at where the tube meets.
