Thought about trading in my 99 since the 0 percent thing is going on, already have what I want picked out in my head, any pointers on going in and negotiating?

BTW, does anyone really get one at 0 percent?

First, go to Edmunds.com, build the truck you want to buy, look at the MSRP, Invoice Price and what the fair market value is. Depending on how "hot" the truck is you want and what the availability is, plan on spending between $200 to $2000 over the Invoice. (Realize it will probably fall somewhere in between closer to the $200 than the $2000.) Then shop around and see who will give you the best price. If you are going 0% you have to take delivery by Sept 3, so you are probably going to have to take something off the lot, this will tend to drive up the price you are going to end up paying. Then, once you have a deal you can live with, then tell them you were debating about trading in your truck. What could he give you for the trade. By already having your deal in place, you will get a more honest value on your trade. Most dealers use NADA for wholesale pricing. You can look up your trade at www.nada.com. Just through the whole process remember that the dealer actually does have to make money. Good luck.

It has been my experience that dealer invoice is about 14% less than sticker.  This is before holdbacks, incentives, rebates.

Are you looking at a 2002 or 2003?

Was looking for a 2003 but most places only have 2002's.

Thought about just keeping it a couple more years but with the financing incentives, current value of the truck and money I have saved up, might be wise to do it now.

I have a similar situation with my '99, lease end coming in early December this year.  I'm hoping that they extend the 0% financing thru December, as it will be really difficult not to order an '03, rather than keeping what I have.

I looked at the financing necessary with a good rate we have through our bank to finance the '99, and if the 0% is still on in December, just doesn't make too much sense to not get the '03 - payment will be actually less, just an extra 16 mos of it, adjusted for the difference in total loan price!!

BTW, I have noticed that some Chevy dealers have lots of '03s, some 1 or 2.
