Auto Ride

:) I pretty much already know the answer to my question.....Go to the dealer and get it scanned with a tech II, but here goes any way. I have an 04 2500 sub with the 8.1 and wonderful autoride....when it works any way. Recently the "service auto ride" light has been coming on intermitantly. It is a 2500 so it has the magna ride shocks, not the air bags. Just wondering if there is a common failure on these? All of the components visually look ok including electrical connenctions. Also, when you get a service light, does anybody know what it defaults too....firm or soft? It still has dampening but the light is anoying....it resets after every key cycle. If nobody has any ideas I will try to get ahold of an old buddy at the Chevy dealer to borrow the Tech II for a few minutes and let you know what I find out.

Thanks

I went through this also with 2500,s we dont have "autoride: like the 1500. even thoughthebuild sheet and emblem says autoride, i have a sheet that says its "electronic controlled suspension"

slightly different. check the harnesses and check the little black tubes near the rear shocks, make surethere not loose or disconnected

Did you find a cure? I checked the harness connectors for the ride height sensors but not for the shocks. The rear shock connectors are in a bad spot up high. It does not seem to ride all that bad, just has the annoying service light.

yea, when i went from a 2' rear block to the 3" i left the tubes not connected ant the bottom of the shock/mount, thinking the code/light wouldnt bother me but it did.. so crawled under and just got them re connected. couplr rides lates the msg stopped coming up. unless one of your shocks is bad bad.. it should be one of those tubes.. or check under the hood at the top of the front shocks those connections arent that tight maybe one of those is loose

What did you find?

I had the truck scanned with a tech II and found code C0625 which is for the LR stroke sensor. The linkage and connector look good, now I have to confirm that I have the 5v reference voltage and ground. If all ar OK....looks like $150 for a replacment sensor. Could be worse I guess.
