2001 Silverado 5.3.. Noticed about a month ago that my AC wasnt blowing as cool as usual. Finally took it by the shop today. It was 8ozs. low on freon.. They removed ,filtered, and charged unit back up and it seems to be working as before.. Question is does anyone know what the temp should be around in regular mode and in recirc ?

Sir ,

It depends on humidity. If the air is dry and the unit has been running a while at highway speeds, you should see outlet temps in the 40s. It can be quite a bit warmer air if there is lots of humidity, water pouring out of the bottom of the truck.

There is a pressure (temperature) adjustment on the botom of the pressure switch screwed into the accumulator. If set too cool, low pressure, the evaporator will freeze into a chunk and no air will come out. Ideally, the evaporator fin temperature should be 35 degrees which will give about 45 degree air if dry.
