Weird. I would question whether you even HAD the heated washer feature.. but hey, you got $100! ka-ching!

I just installed mine it took me about 20 minutes in -16c and I had to remove the original one. Our dealer here is incredibly busy and I doubt they will take the time to do the recall as per the bulletin. Now to see if they will still give me my money for the old heater!

Does anyone know if I can check my VIN to see if I should have the recall?

I have a 2007 Yukon and it went for the service last week and I asked them about it. They said that mine didn't need it but this being Saudi Arabia, experience tells me not to trust them and they either couldn't be bothered or they did it and just didn't want to give me the money.

With the latest blast of snow and cold here in WI, I finally got a chance to put my 'new' washer fluid heater to the test. It works as well as the GM one did. I think the GM one put out more steam so it must have been hotter but this one does the job just fine. Glad to have the option back. Thanks to those on here that found this supplier.

How do you get the discount? I didn't see anywhere to put in a code for the GM pump, only for the universal pump.

The code is web716. Would not work for me either. Called them up, mentioned this forum and they were glad to give the discount. $85.70 shipped the same day I ordered.

Just wanted to put the worries away about dealers removing your Alphatherm units. As a Service Advisor at a Chevrolet Dealership when your vehicle comes in for service we do what is called a VIS report to check for recalls and warranty coverage. The ONLY time a recall is done is if indicates the recall is open, active and has not been performed. If you had the recall done and then have since added the Alphatherm unit you are safe. Believe me when I say a technician will not do a job he will not get paid for. If the recall has already been performed GM will not pay the dealership for the job and the tech will not get paid. So to be safe have the recall done and make sure the advisor understands you want it performed per the TSB(Which should be followed anyways). The advisor can also put on the repair order and highlight the statement that says in parentheses DO NOT CUT TRUCK SIDE WIRES. Then once the recall has been performed you may install your Alphatherm unit without worry it will get removed as long as you do not go in for service within a couple weeks(time it takes for warranty claim to go through and show on VIS report that recall has been performed and is NOT open or active.
