Gmc Sierra Rancho Quick Lift System

Anyone have any experience with this new product from Rancho? Looks like may be a good level/lift solution. Please give me some feedback. I have a 2009 sierra with all-terrain package.

thanks

Looks like a good system.

About $100-$150 more than the bilstein 5100 leveling shocks... BUT these come with new coil springs which is a huge (+) in my book. Add in that you can control the damping ratio with Ranchos 9-way setting it'll allow everyone to firm/soften the ride as they please (which would be helpful for those who say the 5100s are too firm).

I'd consider them

It says "Must reuse OE coil spring and upper mount. Coil spring and mount not included." But you do get the 9-position tuning shocks.

Hmmm... I went to rockymountainsusp.com to see pricing and it stated "Rancho Loaded QuickLift is Pre-assembled with coil spring and upper mount. Match your QuickLift in the rear with Rancho's new RS9000XL shocks to create the ultimate in ride, performance and appearance. "

I didn't go to the Rancho website...

Edit: i tried downloading the installation instructions but keep getting an error. looks like rockymountain had their description wrong though and you need to reuse the stock springs...

I did, so that must be the difference.

Has anyone had experience with the Bilstein 5100 leveling shocks? Would the adjustability of these Ranchos be worth the extra $$$? Also, would I be able to go with a 33" tire with the Rancho or Bilstein shocks? The website says up to 35" on some applications, but there is an asterix. Also, would this installation be easier than a normal spacer leveling kit? By the way, my truck currently has the Rancho shocks that originally came with the allterrain package.

thanks

1) a lot of guys have the 5100s. I personally am not a big fan just because they pre-load the spring to attain the increased ride height. (edit: but if you're using them for the .5-1.0" settings its not a big deal. It's when you get to the 1.7" setting thats a bit discerning to me).

2) it depends on personal preference. some people think the 5100s are too firm... if you would be one of these people, then yes, the adjustability is worth the extra $$$. with that said... IF the rancho uses the stock spring BUT does not preload it more than the OEM coil bodies and achieves the lift via a "longer" coil body, then this would also be a worthwhile investment to retain as much of the OEM ride quality as possible.

3) Depends on the width of the tire AND the width/backspace of the wheels. 275/60/20s would fit on most* wheels whereas 305/55/20s will require trimming of some sort.

4) 35" tires probably on Ford and Dodge trucks where the designers put the round peg through the round hole. Our GM designers are a bit more abstract and always tried forcing the round peg through the square hole..

5) Easiest kit to install is the 2" RC lower spacer. Since the Rancho requires you to use the OEM spring you'll need to use a spring compressor.
