'03 Escalade Steering Column Noise

Hey guys, I just started to experience a noise from the steering column whenever i turn the wheel. It clicks no matter if I turn it right or left. It happens when the car is static or moving. Anyone know what is causing the problem?

If it is right behind the steering wheel and sounds like clicking...it maybe the SIR Coil...I had an 04 Silverado that had a similar sounding problem....

it would drive Fine, but you would be violating Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

I would remove the plastic cover and listen for the clicking where the steering wheel mounts to the column. If you remove the sensor you may set an airbag light and have to get it fixed. airbag is very sensitive.
