Best Way To Smoke Taillights

WHat is the best way to do this? I know the cheapest way is to buy the spray can and the other is to buy new taillights or covers. How do you apply the paint? Is it as simple as putting on a couple of coats or is there prep work? Thanks in advance

I've used NiteShades before and had very good results. Remove the lights, tape off if necessary, clean everything well, and go with light even coats to prevent runs.

I used VHT niteshade and it came out pretty good. Just clear it after, for a good shine. Sand them down good first!

I forgot that! X2 on the clear coat.

window tint. no joke. fast, simple, no taking anything apart, and looks great. it does not come off unless you want it to. best part, if the fuzz get carried away and ask you to remove it or ya get a ticket (had this happen) you just pick at for a couple minutes and she comes off....no ticket..lol. my wifes 09 civic si is white and we did the tail lights on it. looks great. super cheap too. 12 bucks and your done. you will need a razor knife, soapy water in a spray bottle, and a plastic applicator (squeegy)

heres a pic of the ol ladies car:
