Torsion Bar Cranking

If i crank the torsion bars to make it level with back on my 04 silverado 1500.... WILL 295/75/16's FIT??

That's a hard one, if they do, it will be close. Might have to trim the lower bumper valence. A 75 series is a fairly tall, narrow tire. I don't like em' myself.

That would be more within specs for the torsions cranked. That would actually be a 32.8" tire.

With the 2in. lift and the torsions bars you should be able to clear 35s. But, with just the torsions cranked, 33s.

What kind of 2" lift are you putting on?

You know that you cant crank the torsion bars and then add a 2" torsion crank... right? I thought we went over that in another thread..

Right, I know that, I just didn't think he was putting on a 2in. torsion lift. I figured he already knew that once the torsions are cranked, they're pretty much maxed out. I thought he meant a real spindle or control arm lift.

Yeah, i was quoting him, not you... he's only 15 or something and just started looking for info on lifting his truck. In another thread his plans were to "level it" by cranking the torsion bars and then to add a 2" torsion bar lift. He didn't like hearing our responses of why that wont work

They are 305/70R-16 Maxxis Bighorns which are 33x12.4x16 which is not much different than a 295/75R-16 which is 33.4x11.6x16.

I know people that run 315's with just a leveling kit and a small amount of trimming, of course this is on stock wheels.

I wish it was that easy on the GMT-900's

Oh and there is a guy on our hunting club running 34x10.50x16LT Super Swampers on his with TB crank and no trimming that I know of but I can ask.

For your application, I'd just go buy the Zone 3inch body lift and save on your front end... It's not wether you can fit the tires, it's how long you can fit em.

Oh, O.K. I didn't know the situation. Nope, that WON'T WORK kid!
