Custom Headlight/led Question

So not anytime soon, but one day I plan to make my own retrofit projector headlights. As part of that project I'd also like to add some LED lights in the housing such as the ones that come in Audi's. This company, who is about an hour from me, does this but charges a shit ton just to do it. http://www.automotivelightstore.com/customledheadlights.aspx

What I was wondering was what kind of LED lights do you think are used for this type of project? I'd also like to wire these up to only be on as DRL's are parking lights. Maybe even have them on with the headlights but idk yet. This project is a long time away but would just like to collect some info on it.

Thanks guys

Now you got me thinking. I saw a Sierra like yours with a thin strip of white LEDs on the headlights somewhere...I will try to find it for you...

Yea something along the lines of that.

That guy had a company do it for him. I don't know if I'd want to do it like his but same idea. Plus I'd do it myself and save ALOT of money compared to having some company do it for me.

And I figured it was just a flexible LED strip that was used. But just wasn't sure

I was searching around and found this: http://www.mytightride.com/chevy-silverado...al-halo-az.html

They have 3 options on the site from 219 to 329 for the pairs. They have chrome or black housings and include halos and leds (which apparently you have to wire yourself somehow  but they do look pretty good for the price.

After searching that same site for the manufacturer, apparently the GMC ones are made by spec-d: http://www.specdtuning.com/07-10-gmc-yukon...headlights.html

Yup. Wanna come help?

Sure, why not! Have you picked out which projector you're going with?

The same ones as you. I know for sure those fit and they look good so I'll go with those

Good choice! They're relatively simple to retro and the light output is really good for what they are, and not terribly expensive either

I know you said this was a plan...but any idea when you're going to start?

No idea. Not for a few months I predict. I also want to paint my housing black but not really sure how to go about doing that.
