Up or Down?

Building a new subbox for my new truck and was wondering, what sounds better, a downfire or upfire box.  a guy on sounddomain.com has plans for a nice downfire box I might build.  Also, what will make better sound, fiberglass or MDF?

I've built mine to fire up into the seat.  I also made a trim ring to sit up higher than the travel of the subs to keep the fabric off of the cones.  We'll see soon
