Holes In 2010 Rocker Panels

There are 3 holes with plugs in both rocker panels of my 2010 Silverado. What are they for? I just got it undercoated by the dealership and was looking at the job they did, pulled one of the plugs off, no undercoating inside. Is this what these holes are for?

They are used to mount the OEM step bars. There are threaded nuts that fit in those holes that the step bars bolt onto.

You can use them to spray in rust preventative products also......... My 1999 has them also, and I think my 2001 does too........ I don't remember putting them in the trucks (i.e. I don't drill holes ANYWHERE in perfectly good sheet metal, so I probably did not make them)....

No,The holes he's talking about are the ones directly under the door/doors,they are not used for mounting steps (the ones for mounting steps are up underneath inside the rocker panels)

And you can actually see their reflection in the chrome side steps.

Guess here but i'd guess they are either drain holes for the epoxy e-coat primer (whole body gets submerged in a giant tank so every crevace of the sheet metal is primed), Body assembly (weld points), or a factory Jig.

I too was thinking about how easy they will make it to spray a rust inhibitor into the rockers. On my 99 the rockers completely rotted from the inside. Now i just need to find a good rust preventor in NY since Krown isn't available in the US (that i can find)

I want pics, I don't think my truck has them. I've never seen them and I pay close attention to detail.
