Installing new shifter

How do you remove the top and bottom halves of the steering colunm to install a new shift on a Tahoe?

look underneath the column, and there should be two torx screws, take those out and the bottom piece should swing down (you may need to move the rubber boot from the shifter a bit.  I can't quite recall how the top half comes off.  Oh yeah, the tilt wheel lever pulls off.
