Front End Swap: Gmc Vs. Chevy Vs. ?

Had a slight accident involving mud, a couple brews and a tree.... :P

Long story short, i need a new headlight, grille, bumper and drivers side fender - so i figured i might as well update my CURRENT FRONT END on the '98 sierra 3500 (small square headlights). That is a pic of a similar model from google by the way, not my actual truck.

Anyone know what other headlights & grilles will fit (rewiring lights is no problem, but preferably without replacing radiator support and a bunch of other stuff)? Is the SILVERADO front end a direct fit?

Going to the toystore (aka. junkyard) on saturday hopefully, so if please throw out some suggestions!! Also, while im there, any interesting suggestions for the tail lights?

GMT400 GMC and Chevy front ends are a direct swap. There are probably some differences between half ton and 2500/3500s that you might want to look out for.

Being a 98, it should be updated as much as the GMT-400 ever was.

true, but my question was more related to swapping those small square headlights to different ones...changing the look a bit if you will

Yeah, you can put the plastics in it, but you'll have to put new ends on the existing wires. To accomodate the 9005 and 9006 bulbs instead of the sealed glass housings you have on there now.

All GMT-400 grilles and fronts are interchangable from 88 to 98, from 1500 to 3500.

sweet thanks a lot, that gives me a large selection of trucks to find parts in good condition. :P
