Truck Bed Harnesses

I have two Basset Hounds and was wondering if any of you put your dogs in the truck bed with harnesses for highway driving. I would trust one of them but the other has fell into a pool and did not swim.

Put them in kennels and strap the kennels down, that is your safest bet. I have seen pics and videos of dogs falling over the sides and being drug along side the trucks....

Put them in a kennel secured in the bed, but my wife sometimes lets me ride in front so that's nice too.

so your asking if its ok to esentially leash the dogs to the bed?

I have some of these int he bed of my truck and they work pretty well. I don't have it but they do make a pet leash attachment.

Get them to lay down and get some big ratchet straps

Not leash but harness them. I want them comfortable but able to have a little room to move. and they are not gonna be able to jump out any ways. They can barely jump their front ends up

Do you put on a setbelt so you don't jump out of the truck, or to protect you in case of an accident?
