I don't want to lose the bass from my fronts by getting new componets(not ready for full stereo

upgrade). If I install 4x6 plates in the rear how much will it help the sound?

thanks for any feedback

Your backs will sound better than your fronts, making it sound like the music is coming from behind you.  That sounds pretty bad in my opinion.  There are plenty of component sets that will give you bass up front.

I upgraded the front end, and ditched the rear speakers all together.  That's just the way I like the sound (all in front).

I replaced my rears a while ago and just haven't got around to completing the stereo upgrade. It made an improvement, but those 4x6's can't handle any low end so even though it cleaned up the sound (a lot, you'd be amazed) you really can't benefit that much from them. A little, but not much. Go with the new fronts.

I installed the Infinity Kappa rears and used the fader to limit output from the rear.  The Kappa's are a great deal more sensitive/efficient (more volume from same input).

I installed kicke 5 1/4" in the rear to replace the 4x6". Had to cut the steel door panel a little but still used the stock skin. I actually messed up ordering front replacement and ordered the 5 1/4 instead of 6 1/4 for the front, so I decided to try them in the rear. Glad I did. I have Infinity in the front, a little to bright for my liking, and a Sony CD player. Sounds great and not too much money either.

If you want a pair of 6.5's that put out good amounts of bass, look at the Digital Designs midrange/midbass drivers.

I recently installed these in my silverado for midbass speakers and they pack quite a punch.  Right now I don't have a sub, so they play the sub frequencies too, and boy do they do it well.  The best sub bass out of a pair of 6.5's I've heard.

If you call in and order, you get a discount.  So it should be about $76 each with free shipping to the US.

If you have any questions about them, post it here or pm me.
