It is tough to do . I wanted to do the same thing until I researched it further. I looked into changing the seat covers to tan leather. I then realized how much more is involved. The trim in the vehicle will not match very well. Door sill are black which is connected to the covers at the base of the seatbelts. The seatbelt straps are black. The plastic that covers the hinges that allows the seat to recline are balck and butt up to the cloth. Will the tan match up top the grey door panels and b pillar? The C pillar connects to the back of the truck and is also grey not to mention the headliner and most of the dash components. I ended up going with black leather to have conitnuity. Was alot more work and expense than I was willing to take on. I am afraid it will look like it was added after the fact without changing everything. Tan may match with the black, but it will look funny with the grey. Here is a pick and look at all of the black plastic and grey trim throughout the vehicle. Just my opinion gmc027.jpg

Sounds like waaaaay too much work to me. If you didn't like the black interior, why did you buy a new truck with that color in the first place?

where did u get the black leather from? im going to upgrade outs one say. Also how much did it cost u

sorry to thread jack  ....GMCAnthony, what kind of speaker/sub do you have under your backseat? How did you wire it, and are you pleased with the sound?

I think your only hope with that one is a wrecker. The odds in finding another guy that would go to all the work to strip their truck to swap interior colors is going to be pretty low.

well I looked for 5 months out to 600 miles and my dealer couldn't find one, and it was too late to order one from the factory and still get the 5000 rebate

I have the direct source that you can contact.

http://custominteriorsus.com/ I spoke with both Mark and Cheryl and they were both helpful. I did have problems with the back seat. Their leather kits were for Crew-Cabs only so I ended up having the two pieces sewn together to make my bench seat cover. Worked perfectly, cannot tell it wasn't originally made that way. We used the original cloth cover as a template. I did the install myself and while it was a pain, it is very do-able. I think I paid around $475, it was in March so I can't remember exactly. I am very with the quality and anyone that gets in my truck doesn't believe I installed it.

Dang. Didn't realize that. I thought there were all kinds of them running around. Guess that's why you couldn't find a new one...they were already sold

If he were anywhere close to me and I had the cashmere leather, I'd spend the weekend swapping everything with him. It's not THAT much work, and it's all pretty straightforward stuff.

probably a 4 hour job tops....these new trucks come apart very easy....even the dashes...I haven't look an SLE Dash...but I know the SLT Dash is just a bunch of covers the way the GMT-800 models were....you don't actually have to removed the whole dash just to change the color...

Hey BigRed500, if you decide to do the swap I might be interested in your Ebony leather. Let me know if you are interested.

Ya I would be interested in a swap I have the ebony premium cloth, and looking for the casmier (tan)
