Powertrax Installation Challenges?

The Richmond Gear "Powertrax" seems to (possibly?) be the next best thing to a G80 for the 2500HD, and they claim it's a "simple" job to install and requires no ring & pinion adjustment afterward. In looking around the net, though, there is some casual reference to a possible interference problem with removing the pinion shaft for some of the "higher #" ratios due to the ring gear being thicker. My '03 2500HD really needs a locker that will have good on road driveability and the Powertrax seems to be a good compromise. Of course, I'd rather have the G80, but need to do the install as cheap as possible (DIY). Since the Powertrax doesn't require removal of the ring gear (...unless there's a problem with the "thicker" gear?), it appears to be the way to go. Does anyone have experience with this installation into the 14 bolt, 10.5 FF with 4:10 ratio...and, if so, can the total install be done without having to remove the diff. case? Thanks! Mc

...just to clarify (condense :dunno: ) the question: Can anyone tell me if, on the 14 bolt full floater with 10.5"/4:10 ring gear, can the pinion shaft can be removed without having to remove the differential case from the rear axle assembly? (In other words, is the 4:10 ring gear too "fat" for the pinion shaft to come out past it?) Thanks much. Mc
