Well, that's basically a 33x12.5, which is about the limit. I think the extra width will get you in trouble. There are guys running 33's with leveling kits, but they're not as wide. I know a guy that tried to run 33x12.5x20's with a 2.5 leveling kit, and had trouble with the tires rubbing his frame and getting into his mud flaps and fenders. It was a mess. He was using different rims though. I still think you'll have to trim quite a bit.

The guys at discount tire said that tire will fit my truck on the factory wheel without a leveling kit and will not rub at all. Also on the rough country web site says that with the 2 inch leveling kit you can fit 285 70 tires I cant imagine I will have as big of a problem as you guys make it sound

There is NO possible way that you're going to be able to run them without a leveling kit and no rubbing. That guy is feeding you some BS.

Now a 295/55/20 Trail Grappler is 32.91" Tall and 12.52" wide (Nitto's site) you're going to have to put on a leveling kit and do like the others said and trim plastic and depending on your truck maybe metal. It all depends. Its not really the height of the wheel its the width that kills you!

There is a big difference in 285/55/20. You're losing about .5" of height and probably around an inch of width if I remember correctly.

Just know that its not happening without ATLEAST a leveling kit and some persuasion. You do have stock rims which does help your case some. You might be able to just trim plastic and be fine.

My advice is to just do it. I was going to go with 295/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers (Measure to 33.54" tall and 11.97" wide) and I regret not getting them and just trimming what I needed to.

it seems like to me with these trucks and the 2" kit that you can get the 33" tires but you can't get the width with it. i been looking into alot of different tires and cant decide if i want the 275/70/18's, the 285/65/18's or the 295/65/18's and what would fit without trimming and what would look the best  haha

285/65/18's look good on these trucks.

Trimming really isnt that big of a deal. My truck was only a little over a year old when I got my new tires and didn't really want to trim but if done right you can't even tell anything has been trimmed on a truck.

My next set of tires will be 295/70/17's with just a 2" kit. If it looks like I'm going to have to go crazy with a sawzall then I'll step back down to 285's.
